  one of the cornerstones of jw's is counsel.

  they just love to give counsel and many times they will literally make things up just for the sake of counsel.

  i was once counselled for joking around too much.

  january 15, 1964 started watchtower women's new year off with a. bang: scream if you're raped or be disfellowshiped!!!.

  Another subject the WTBS has no business in. Rape victims need extreme compassion and understanding. I can't image a victim being subject to an "interview",by elders, to see if there is some sin on the victims part.

  It makes me sick to know a 15 yr old sister was disfellowshipped for immorality with a 32 yr old brother. How these elders could not see she was preyed on by this moron is beyond me. Talk about having your head up your ass.

  News! Building Committee Condemning Kingdom Halls!

  apparently, in some kingdom halls, various brothers on regional building committees are studying indoor.

  pollution.

  as i told you guys, meeting attendance is being affected by the growing number of witnesses complaining.

  The quick build hall caused many in our hall to feel rather uncomfortable. Esp. when the roof leaked on to those in the audience. So much for quality work.

  Did You Ever "Pray For The Governing Body"?

  we were "encouraged" to regularly pray for the governing body because they work so hard and need our prayers sent to jehovah.

  Which is worse: Going in Service or Having a Meeting on a Holiday?

  i used to dread the prospect of having an evening meeting to to go hanging over my head all day long on a major holiday, almost as much as being compelled to ``go out in service.".

  Service Our hall use to have the feild service meetings a little later in order not to distrurb any householders, ha! try not going to their door in the first place.

  I did all the holidays, one time or another, I would say there was less success.

  Christmas before Armaggedon arrives

  does anyone else remember(years ago) the wts claiming that as time went on and people became less and less godless, that in the years right before armaggedon was to strike, people would forego the celebrating of christmas?.

  i remember this being taught when i was a young-un.

  i don't know if it was ever in print or not, but i definately remember it being said at book studies and kh meetings.. somebody tell me i'm not dreaming this.

  Cancelling The Meeting

  one of the strangest things that i've seen with the "sheep" is how they would not do anything unless they heard from their elders.

  especially was this so, during inclement weather.

  if we were in the middle of a blizzard, we could not call off the meeting unless we heard it was confirmed by the presiding overseer, usually after he "discussed" it with some elders.

  I remember once after a huge snowstorm the meeting not being cancelled because the C.O. was visiting. Sure enough a sister slipped and fell on the walk way and had to go to the hospital. I'm sure if the elders weren't so intent on kissing the C.O. ass in showing how spiritual they were, there wouldn't have been a meeting.

  Up to 2 feet here, but what really is weird is I saw two dubs out in service. Where's the common sense in that? FYI I had to be out doing snow removal.
